Old Time Toys Deuce and a Half

OLD TIME TOYS now has a 1:12 scale WW II Deuce and a Half, known as The Deuce," which is made of pressed steel; has a working wench on its front bumper; has a removable canvas bed cover; a removable canvas cab cover; removable metal benches in the bed; and a working tail gate. It comes with two plastic, scaled, five gallon "Jerry Cans." The Deuce got its name from the fact that it was rated as a two and a half ton truck.

Over 30,000 6 x 6 Deuces were made during WW II. They were made by GM, REO, International and even the Russians copied the design and made their own to augment the thousand s we sent them via the Port of Mermansk.

When asked what was the most valuable weapon the US had during WW II, General George Patton replied, "Clearly, the Deuce and a Half." The Deuce was modified, both at the factories and in the field into an infinite variety of vehicles, from wreckers, to rocket launchers, to communication vans, to tractors to pull the Red Ball semis over the Burma Road, and every other road leading to a combat zone. The Navy painted them grey; the Marines, Marine green; and the Army, Olive Drab. The Deuce went to sea as well, in the form of the famous DUCK, which you still see in service taking tourists for "boat rides" in Alaska and other places.

OLD TIME TOYS has about 80 Deuces in inventory. No more will be manufactured. When the current inventory is sold out, the dies will be retired.
